Corner Radius Template

A 3D printable template at the radius you set, to mark a corner or guide a router round-over.

The radius

The template

Size is the square the arc sits in. Make it a bit bigger than the radius so you have something to hold and clamp. 6 mm thick takes a router bearing.

A rounded corner is friendlier than a sharp one, on a tabletop you lean on or a shelf you brush past, and it chips less. The trouble is drawing the same curve twice. This template sets it. Hold it on the corner and mark the arc, or clamp it down and let a router bearing follow it.

What each setting does

Corner radius. The size of the curve. A small 3 to 6 mm radius just softens the edge; 10 to 20 mm is a fuller round. Print the few you use and keep them with the router.

Size and thickness. The size is the square the arc sits in. Make it a little bigger than the radius so there is template to hold and clamp. Six millimeters thick sits flat and gives a router bearing a full edge to ride.

Two ways to use it

To mark: set the rounded corner where you want the curve and draw around the arc, then cut to the line. To rout: clamp the template to the work, arc where you want it, and run a flush-trim or pattern bit with the bearing against the template edge. The bit copies the arc exactly, so keep that edge clean.

Printing it

Print it flat, no supports. Use 100% infill or at least 4 walls so the edge is solid against a bearing, and 0.2 mm layers. PETG holds up better than PLA where the bearing rubs.

Before you download

The file is read back before the button turns on: every edge shared by exactly two triangles, every face pointing outward, a positive volume. If the radius is too big for the size, the page says so instead of giving you a broken file.
