About MakerKiln
Workshop calculators that do their work in your browser, not on a server.
What this is
MakerKiln is a set of free calculators for people who make physical things — 3D print cost, filament and spool math, and more workshop numbers as the set grows. Each tool is one page that loads fast, computes live as you type, and remembers your shop's settings in your own browser.
Everything is plain JavaScript running in your tab. There is no backend doing the math, no account, and no upload step — which is why the pages keep working offline once loaded, out in the shop where the Wi-Fi doesn't reach.
How the numbers are chosen
Presets — printer wattages, machine lifetimes, material prices and densities — are typical published or community-measured values, and every one of them is editable. They exist to give you a credible starting point in one click; your own metered and weighed numbers always beat them, and the tools remember what you type.
The Kiln family
MakerKiln is the fourth Kiln utility, alongside FileKiln (file converters), GradeKiln (GPA calculators), and ShapeKiln (design asset generators). All four run on the same principle: the work happens in your browser, and what you type is nobody's business but yours.
